LUNAR © 2004
In 1955 Mary-Anne was murdered. In 1958 she returns for three reasons.
Lunar is a compelling drama/horror set in the small town of Blytheville during the mid 1950's. From Drive-In's to Cemeteries, this entertaining frightening and sometimes touching film explores the wonders of teenage nightlife in the nostalgic era that time fell in love with.
Lunar was probably the most stressfull film I have ever made. We shot it on 16mm - and that fact alone seemed to complicate things dramatically. On the other hand all that stress paid off with the finished film that seems to stand out in the Dark Epic library as the most technical film so far. Dante did a wonderful job filling every scene with 1950's set decoration as Mark Morris did with painting light into every shot. I can still remember the night that we had a light break on set - a very expensive light may I add. I was convinced that production would stop - on the fourth night of shooting. But, we continued, not sure really how it happened - someone just said 'let's keep going' and we did. Thank you to all that helped out on this film, something I will always remember fondly.
